Self-cleaning glass also known as Easy -Cleaning Glass, is a type of glass that has been treated with a special coating to avoid the dirt, grime, and water spots deposit. This technology aims to keep the glass surface clean, requiring less frequent cleaning and maintenance, make the curtain wall glass achieve a real no-wash effect.
Hydrophobic
The main component is silicone. Coating on the surface of glass gives a slippery feeling, making the material surface smooth and uniform. The water fall off itself when raining.
Its advantage is that it has a strong repulsive effect on water (but not oil).
The disadvantage is poor adhesion, and in a short period of time (6-12 months), its water repellent properties will significantly decrease.
Hydrophilic
The main component is titanium dioxide (TiO2), it causes small water droplets to converge into large ones, which fall off under the action of gravity, it is particularly suitable for outdoor building glass.
Its advantage is that it is cheap.
its disadvantage is that it requires UV irradiation and its adhesion is also poor.
The main component is inorganic nano silicon material, which is characterized by a super hydrophilic coating on the surface and good dust resistance. It does not rely on sunlight and works in a completely dark environment. It is an upgraded version of titanium dioxide products.
